Lore Summary

Chonky Chkns roam freely and enjoy daily life in the CHK Republic. Chkns are generally pretty happy and laid-back, but this wasn’t always the case… It was only when the CHK Republic was established as an independent sovereign nation several centuries ago that Chkns were set free from humankind’s control and abuse which used to cast a shadow over their lives... CHK Corp is one of the largest companies in the CHK republic, with affiliate businesses spanning the food, healthcare, tech and even fashion industries. It’s been around for as long as CHK Republic has – in fact, its research lab pioneered the invention of the first chicken meat substitute, a big factor in why humans and Chkns can now co-exist. In recent years, something ominous seems to be going on within the CHK Corp. Young Chklings have gone missing around the Fowl Forest that borders the CHK Corp research facility. Mysterious flickering shadows between the trees have caused local Barnyardsfolk to label the Fowl Forest as haunted. Just last week, there were sightings of disfigured and cyborg chickens that have gotten everyone talking... 😱

Squad Descriptions

Influencer Influencers are the most energetic personalities within the CHK community. They vocalize for the causes they care about, and using their extensive platforms, are able to rally flocks of Chkns together to take action. They are the ones who have been commenting on and spreading awareness on social media about the recent disappearances of young Chklings around the Fowl Forest... Hypebeast Hypebeasts are the fashion trend-leaders in the CHK community. You’ll never see a Hypebeast in a bad outfit, and will frequently find them jamming out at concerts and festivals held in the Nest. Hypebeasts will spend thousands on the newest and hottest CHK branded streetwear and will wait for hours in line at CHK clothing stores to snag trendy new releases.

CHK Employee CHK employees perform a variety of roles within the CHK corp. Some help to maintain CHK’s main businesses in the food, health care, fashion and various other industries. Others are involved in performing leading-edge research at CHK’s nearby research facility. Recently, CHK researchers had to sign a NDA for a new top-secret research project…

Deviant In the past year, multiple Chkns have mysteriously disappeared, never to be seen again, causing great alarm amongst the Chkn community. In truth, these Chkns had been lured away (with special FEED) by members of the CHK corp as experiment subjects for their latest evolution program research.

These Chkns underwent extensive experimentation and came out as Deviants. But now they can’t leave – researchers want to continue studying them to figure out the extent of their newly developed mutations. What new powers the Deviants have developed is unclear – for now, they just want to find a way out to go back home. Secret Agent As the CHK corp started pursuing research ventures that could cause public uproar if they were revealed, Secret Agents were employed to help hide what must be hidden and to maintain the public image that CHK Corp has established. Any innocent citizens that wander too close to the Fowl Forest (which borders the CHK corp’s research facility) are safely escorted away by a Secret Agent. All Secret Agents are also top-tier fighters chosen for the task of holding off skilled Resistance members who are trying to discover and reveal CHK’s secrets. Resistance As rumors circulate that the ever increasing cases of young Chkling disappearances have something to do with the CHK Corp, those higher up have been trying to shut them down as a mere conspiracy theory. Friends and family members of those that have gone missing know better though, and have formed a Resistance movement to investigate what is truly going on behind the scenes with the CHK Corp.

Don’t underestimate the Resistance – it has some of the strongest martial arts and skilled fighting masters that the CHK Republic has ever seen. Although CHK Corp has layers of security stationed in the Fowl Forest, the Resistance has strong confidence that it’ll be able to break through them to discover the truth. Chkling Chklings are the children of the CHK republic. With ever improving health care and technological advancements, Chkns hope that this new generation of Chklings will lead the best life yet. Not much is known about the abilities or future motivations of these Chklings given their young age, but they show strong evolutionary potential. Both the resistance and the CHK Corp want to train Chklings to lead the future of their organizations. In the past year, several Chklings have mysteriously disappeared, causing great alarm amongst the Chkn community. For their safety, they’re being cooped up in the Barnyard while these cases are being investigated. Chklings would love to run free range and play outdoors again - hopefully this all boils over soon! Assassin Assassins are the secret weapon of the CHK Corp, the elitist of the elite. On the very rare occasions that a Chkn slips past the careful watch of the Secret Agents, they’re meticulously taken care of by an Assassin. Lurking in the darkest shadows of the Fowl Forest, they never see the daylight and very few know of their existence.

Yacht Club Yacht Club chkns make up a decent chunk of the top earners in the CHK Republic. With their keen eyes for growth potential, YCs were some of the first to invest in the CHK Corp and Chonky NFT when they first entered the market decades ago. After building sizable nest eggs, most of them retired early and relocated to the remote tropical islands up north, spending their days speeding around in their private yachts or relaxing on the beach.

YCs haven’t been super in the loop to what’s going on in mainstream society given their remoteness. After the recent rumors to do with the CHK Corp though, Influencers, Hypebeasts and Resistance members alike have been trying to get in contact with them because their combined wealth might just be enough to tackle the CHK Corp head on at last. Nobles Nobles are the royalty of the CHK Republic and form the original governing body that dictated the laws and rules of Chkn society. However, their influence has slowly diminished over time due to the rise of the CHK Corp. Over past generations, they’ve gradually traded power and influence over to the CHK corp in exchange for money and comfort – to the point where the present-day royal family is now a shadow of their former selves and more symbolic than anything else.

The Nobles live atop the Treasure Tower overlooking all of the CHK Republic, and generally like to enjoy their lives in private, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday Chkn life. However, the new younger generation of Nobles want to break away from past trends and frequently engage in social activism. They are quite concerned about the recent rumors of Chkn experimentation and kidnappings that they’ve been hearing through the grapevine. Demons Demons are the descendants of GMO chickens created by humans for cheap, mass consumption back before the creation of the CHK republic and chicken meat substitute. They were shunned by their fellow chickens, and having lived lives of shame and ostracization, they’ve outcasted themselves from chicken society and now reside in the deep underground caverns of the East. They want vengeance and aim to have other Chkns experience some of the pain they themselves have gone through. Over time, their existence has become the stuff of legends, and Chkns refer to them as Demons. In the past few years, there have been rumors bubbling that demons have infiltrated certain high positions of the CHK society, but these rumors are quickly quashed by mainstream media… Angels Angels are chickens that were genetically modified by humans back in the day to be able to fly. Furthermore, the smartest and fanciest of these Chkns were selectively bred to serve as people’s pets and so they were never mistreated and never experienced a bad life. Since the creation of the CHK Republic, they’ve lived in seclusion in the mountains up north as they believe themselves to be superior to the everyday Chkn. Given their infrequent appearances in mainstream society, their existence has become the stuff of legends, and Chkns refer to them as Angels. Recently, members of the Resistance have been trying to come into contact with the Angels to try and recruit them on their mission to discover the truth behind the CHK Corp… Elementals Generations ago, humans were testing serums for elemental abilities and immortality. As they approached a breakthrough, they started preliminary animal experiments of these serums on Chkns. The experiments were largely a failure and resulted in hundreds of deaths. However, of the many trials performed, four Chkns survived and became the Elementals. Each one was endowed with eternal life and the ability to control a specific Element: Gold, Air, Stone, or Wood. Over time though, the Elementals lost their sentience and became one with the Elements that they controlled. They’re located in each of the four corners of the country and, through their Elements, help protect the CHK Republic from the outside world.
